English Languague Challenges

Hello everyone, today I gonna to talk about how my English language has evolved. The truth is that I have not improved much because I have been very loose with my English courses at the university. Despite my laziness I feel that I have improved in my ability to improvise when I have to speak English, as in the lectures or conversations that take place in classes. As for blogs, it was fun to do them, time flew by and I learned words I did not know, so it was a good experience. Something that has always cost me the English language, the connectors and grammar rules, I find it hard to remember them, and besides the pronunciation, I guess it's something like practicing, I would like to know how to pronounce what I am saying to feel more secure to the time to talk, although it is obvious that it is something that will take time. I think I am going to improve my English skills as I go through the courses, although as I said before on my own and my concern about my career paths, I d

A expert in my field that I Admire: Ruth Benedict.

Ruth Fulton Benedict; New York, 1887-1948) American anthropologist and writer. Trained at Vassar College and Columbia University, where he would later teach, his first vocation was literature. From 1919 he devoted himself to anthropology studies: from 1922 to 1929 he carried out research on Native Americans. His research led him to some conclusions he formulated in his Esquemas de cultura (1934), a work in which he methodologically defined the complex relationship between individuality and cultural model. Benedict argued that the culture of each people is unique and can only be understood from its own terms. She also pointed out that each culture exerts pressure on its members to conform to the patterns of society and tends to reward those who do. Besides, with the emergence of Nazism, Benedict began working in various organizations to educate the people about the threat of racism. I like this anthropologist, for many reasons, first of all because she is a woman, because ant

Hello everyone, in this case I wanna talk about a photograph that I like. Its a photograph of my beloved city, Valparaiso. I took this photo about two months ago I took this picture about two months ago one night I went out with my boyfriend, we came down the hill Placeres, and we arrived at the Hill Baron where there is a viewpoint, from which you can observe much of the city.  What I like about this picture is that shows how beautiful it is my city, in the photo you can see the form of theatre that has Valparaiso, the hills with their lights are like the public looking at the serene and dark Sea by the light of the night.I love to photograph my city because I think it has a very unique beauty, is a perfect chaos, take photos of Valparaiso and then see them when I'm in Santiago makes me think about how little is left on vacation and that is very exciting.

I'll like study History of Art. I think is important study posgraduate studies because, we never stop learn, the world is so amazing, all this tipes of things, hahaha. I like the University of Chile, but I prefer study out of my country, I dont know what place, but I dont care for the moment. I suppose that I have to work at the same time, so I think that will be a part-time study. Any way, we never know what it's gonna happen in the future, I believe in my career, and I wanna study another posgraduate studies related to this, like Industrial archaeology and experimental archaeology. I hope that I can meet my goals and not dissapoint me on the way. Goodbye!, see u later.

My favourite subject of this semester.

This semester I had a lot of interesting subjects in my curriculum, like Evolution and Social History of Chile, but my preferred subject was Archaeology II, the second part of Arqueology I, that I had the previous semester.  In class we learn about the differents topics that we have to investigate like archaeologists, we hear tearchers talks about the diferents topics and we take notes, in the metodology was a little boring but I focus in the ideas.  Besides, I understand the social and political responsabilities of study the past of human groups. We have  six modules, there are subsistence and economy, technology and social organization, social change, ideology and heritage. I love the last unities, especially the final forum with experts about heritage, here we learn about how deconstruct the archaeology.   I enjoy very much learn about this, because I want to choose the speciality in my career, I think that is very important change the focus of this discipline sharp

Especially my favourite movie, but I have a little problem, I have a lot of favourite movies, there is a lot of beautiful and amazing movies, I have to decide like always in the life.  Persepolis is one of my favourites movies, I can say that is my favourite animated movie, although I must say that this movie its not the typical animated movie, because adresses social, cultural and political topics. Is the autobiographical history of a iranian women, Marjane Satrapi. The history tells how she grow up in a fundamentalist Islamic regime untill she leave her country.  I think that this movie is amazing because have a complaint about religious  fanaticism, and especially about the repression against Iranian women. Besides i like how a individual history can tells us all the history of her culture and country. Finally i love the culture chock between the western culture and the east culture, exactly middle east, because thats t

My Favourite Piece of Technology

Imagen
Hello everyone, today I'll talk about my favourite piece of technology. Well,  First I want to make it clear that technology and me are not good friends,  I have never been interested in technology and in fact I am very awkward to use the various appliances technological, even television.  Nevertheless I can say that my favorite technological object is the cell phone, neither I like very much the cell phones but it is the object that more I occupy to speak with my dears, to find out about academic matters or simply to visit the social networks.   I don't remember exactly how old I was when I had my first phone, I think it was between 11 and 12 years, in the period that only serve to speak.  A t least the one that I have now is almost 3 years old, it is a very old phone for nothing modern not cool, but it serves to me and I occupy it every day, especially to speak with my friends, my boyfriend and my mom who lives in Valparaiso. What more I like of the cell p

Why i choose Anthropology?

When I was a child I always dreamed to be dancer or actress, I liked the idea of staying in a stage, this changed a lot, now I believe that I am a little shy. Eventually I thought to be writer or teacher of language, make great stories like J.K Rowling or Marcela Paz.  When I grew up and I had to apply to university, I chose anthropoly like my first option in differentes universitys, I love the idea to study this career, in second place, I choose Hispanic Literature, motivated for my dreams of child. And in third place, I choose journalism, I think that this career is entertaining, but for me have a moral that its not like mine, is part of the handling of the media.  In true, I never thought in the other options that I chose outside of anthropology, I was really focused in this career, so when I heard that I was in, I didn't have doubts.  My experience at the moment has been good, I haven't disappoint yet. I think that are things in my career that we have to solve l

I lived with my parents and my brother in Ñuñoa for many years , here I studied my primary school with my brother in the same place and we share our friends, almost all my chilhood was here in  ñuñoa.  In 2007 was born my little brother; Sebastian, I only had nine years  old when I knew him and was so exciting for me to have a new brother. We lived in Ñuñoa for 3 years more till my parents decided that the family will go to live in Valparaiso. Hi everyone, my name is Eva but here you will know me like Lovely Rita, I always wanted to be a Beatles song.  In this blog i want to talk about the Popular Culture, like music, cinema, books and Illustration, comics and more, specially about the 80's and 90's, because  i feel more identified with that Culture than with the current, and i love it. I never had a blog, is exciting have one, although a little difficult in English.  I will try to do my best. I dont think that writting  is my worst skill in English but I'm not an expert either. For me the most difficult skill is listening , I often get confused with words and the differents ways of saying them, like British and American mode. On the other hand, reading is the most eassier skill, at least for me, i understand almost all and words I dont, i understand them by context. Well, like i said at the beggining I never had a blog, is a new experience for me, also is an original and didactic way of Learning Englis
